the importance of your personal data, and for this reason, we are
committed to processing it with the utmost attention to guarantee its
security and confidentiality. This policy on the processing of personal
data, provided pursuant to Articles 13 and 14 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679
(hereinafter "the Regulation"), outlines the methods and logic used to

(hereinafter "the Site").
This policy applies to all users who submit their personal data through
interaction with the Site. Some initiatives organized or promoted by the
organizer Yay-Yay Events (such as Hackathons, Conferences, and other
events) may involve methods of processing personal data that differ from
those described here. Specific conditions will be applied to these
initiatives in addition to (or as an alternative to) what is described
below. Specific information on these conditions will be provided as
necessary. This policy does not extend to other websites accessed via
links contained on the Site.
Data controller
The Data Controller is Centro de Cultura Asiática de Málaga SLU
(hereinafter "the Data Controller") (VAT number ESB93111342) in the person
of its legal representative pro tempore, based at C/ Puerto 14, 1 Planta
Of. 3 29016 Malaga, Spain. The Data Controller here operates under the
brand name Yay-Yay Events.
Types of Data Processed
- A. Browsing Data During their normal operation,
the computer systems and software procedures used to operate this Site acquire
some personal data whose transmission is implicit in the use of Internet
communication protocols. This category of data includes IP addresses or domain
names of the computers and terminals used by you, the URI/URL (Uniform Resource
Identifier/Locator) addresses of the requested resources, the time of the
request, the method used to submit the request to the server, the size of
files obtained in response, the digital code indicating the status of the
response given by the server (success, error, etc.) and other parameters
relating to your operating system and the IT environment that you use.
- B. Cookies

- C. Data Provided for Participating as a Speaker
If you decide to participate in an event as a speaker, the Data Controller
invites you to provide further information such as your name and surname,
email address, a photo, a short biography, and your role within the company
that you work for.
- D. Data Provided When Purchasing a Product or Service
The Data Controller processes common data (such as your name, surname, company
name, tax code/VAT number, email address, t-shirt size, etc.) provided when
purchasing a product or service (e.g., tickets to attend events). The email
address indicated at the time of purchase may be used by the Data Controller
to send communications related to the direct sale of products or services
similar to those purchased. Yay-Yay Events uses platforms like TicketTailor
and Stripe for ticket sales.
- E. Data Provided Using Contact Addresses
This refers to information you provide when writing to the addresses indicated
on the Site. In this case, we process your email address and any other information
included in the communication.
- F. Data Provided for Subscription to the Newsletter
When requested, Yay-Yay Events will send you communications relating to the
latest news in the world of software development. Communications may include
invitations to events, news reports, and commercial promotions for Yay-Yay
Events or third-party products. To send communications, the Data Controller
will process the email address provided during registration for the service.
- G. Data Provided for Participation in an Event
To participate in an event (e.g., ticket registration or enrolment), Yay-Yay
Events invites you to fill out a form in which you will be asked for details
such as your name, surname, email, nationality, LinkedIn profile, and the
company you work for. For in-person events, your data will be used to create
a personal badge and generate a QR Code for certain services. Videos and/or
photos of attendees may be taken and published on the JOTB website and via
our social channels. By participating, you consent to the capturing and use
of these images for promotional purposes. Additionally, speakers’ speeches
and interviews will be recorded and shared via JOTB channels during and after
the event.
- H. Data Provided for Participation in a Training Programme
For participation in a Training Programme, the data processed will include
your first and last name, the name of your company, and your professional
qualification. Your data will be used to issue a certificate of participation.
If the course is activated at your company's request, your company will provide
your email address for sending the invitation and instructions for starting
the training. Yay-Yay Events will also keep the results of your answers and
the progress of your training.
- I. Data Provided to Receive Commercial Communications from Yay-Yay
Events
With your express consent, Yay-Yay Events may use your contact details to
send commercial communications about its activities or products, or those
of third parties.
- J. Data Provided to Receive Communications from Third Parties
With your express consent, Yay-Yay Events may transmit the data you enter
when completing forms (such as during ticket purchase or event registration)
to third parties for commercial communications or recruiting purposes.
Purpose and Legal Basis for Processing
The processing activities are carried out to:
- Allow the Site to function
Browsing data is also processed to obtain statistical information about the
use of services and to test the functionality of the services offered. The
basis for processing is the legitimate interest of the Data Controller.
- Provide a service and manage accounting records
The basis for processing is the performance of a contract and the fulfilment
of legal obligations. Yay-Yay Events may send communications concerning the
direct sale of similar products or services using the email address provided
during purchase (soft spam). This does not require explicit consent, and
you can request to stop receiving these communications at any time.
- Respond to requests and inquiries
Processing is necessary to fulfil a user request.
- Allow subscription to the newsletter
The basis for processing is the consent of the data subject.
- Allow registration and enrolment for events and exhibitions
The basis for processing is the performance of a contract. Publication of
names, surnames, team names, photos/videos of projects presented, and materials
produced by teams for event promotion may be carried out after receiving
prior consent. Dissemination of speakers’ presentations is for promotional
purposes, following prior consent. Soft spam regarding similar initiatives
does not require explicit consent, and you can exercise your right to object
at any time. Photos and videos of attendees are collected and disseminated
for promotional purposes with the consent of the data subject.
- Send commercial communications about Yay-Yay Events or third-party
activities
The basis for processing is the consent of the data subject.
- Enable enrolment, use, and monitoring of training courses and
obtaining certificates in the Learning Section
The processing is based on the execution of a contract. Your email address
may be used in the future to inform you about similar services and training
programs based on the legitimate interest of the data controller.
- Communicate data to partners/sponsors for receiving commercial
information or recruiting purposes
The basis for processing is the consent of the data subject.
- Disclose browsing data to legal authorities if needed for crime
investigation
- Share data with partners for activities related to the development of
the Project during events or exhibitions
For in-person events, a personal badge with a QR Code is necessary for identification
and service access. Allowing a sponsor to scan your QR Code authorizes sharing
your contact details for promotional and/or recruitment purposes. Dissemination
of photos and videos of attendees at events is done with prior consent.
- Communicate enrolment, progress, and module completion data with your
company for Career Path participation
Your company processes this data as an autonomous data controller. Consult
your company's information notice for further details.
Data Retention Periods
- Browsing data: Retained for a maximum of 60
days.
- Purchase data:
Retained for 10 years.
- Email communications data:
Retained only for the time necessary to respond to your requests.
- Newsletter subscription data:
Retained until consent is withdrawn.
- Event registration data:
Retained for 10 years following the event. Speaker participation data, including
projects and related photos/videos, retained until a deletion request is
received.
- Commercial communications or recruiting data:
Retained until consent is withdrawn
Your Rights
As a data subject, you may exercise your rights pursuant to Article 15 et
seq. of the Regulation by sending an email to info@yayyay.events, or by
sending a registered letter to Centro de Cultura Asiática de Málaga SL,
C/Puerto 14 Planta 1 Of 3 29016, Malaga, Spain. You also have the right to
lodge a complaint with the Spanish DPA (Data Protection Authority), as the
supervisory authority, if you believe that the processing of your personal
data violates current legislation.
Changes to the Policy
This policy is valid from 10.01.2025 and is subject to updates. We invite
