Who can I contact for questions relating to payment/invoices?

You can write to info@jonthebeach.com for any questions and issues related to the payment.

Can I pay for tickets by invoice?

Yes, you can. Just write an email to info@jonthebeach.com specifying the number of tickets you wish to buy and your company's billing details. The payment shall be sent by bank transfer to JOTB's account. Once the payment is received, we will issue a discount code to redeem your tickets on our website for free.

Do you offer discounts for multiple ticket purchases for teams or groups?

Yes, we offer discounts for groups of 4 people minimum and you can see the prices on this page.

Can I get an invitation letter for a visa application or border control?

Yes, after purchasing your ticket you can write an email to info@jonthebeach.com stating your full name, nationality, date of birth, and passport number as well as the details of the Embassy or Consulate where you will apply for the visa.

If I'm unable to attend J On The Beach 2025 in-person, what options do I have?

Once paid, JOTB25 tickets are non-refundable unless the event is canceled.

If you can no longer attend JOTB, you can transfer your ticket for the same conference to another person.

Transfers can be requested for free until Monday, April 20th, 2025. A fee of 40 EUR applies to transfers requested between Tuesday, April 21st, 2025, and Friday, May 9th, 2025. The deadline for transfer requests is Friday, May 9th, 2025.

You can request a transfer by emailing info@jonthebeach.com stating your full name, email, ticket code or order number and reason for the transfer.

Yes, J On The Beach is committed to supporting those in greater need to access the event. We offer special pricing for individuals who are unemployed, students, researchers, or full-time contributors to open-source projects. Venue

Where will J On The Beach 2025 be held?

This year, the event will take place across two venues located just a street apart.

On May 14th, technical workshops and other activities will be held on the first floor of the La Térmica cultural center. This venue hosted the first three editions of the event and is accessible via Avenida de los Guindos 48.

On May 15th and 16th, the talks and main activities of the event will take place at the Sohrlin space, located right behind the La Térmica building at Calle Almonte 6.

What travel options are there to get to the venue?

There are various ways to get to venue with public transport or taxi/Uber/etc. The fastest way from the airport is by taxi: less than 15 minutes you will be there. From the city centre bus lines 3, 7, 40 or the underground Line 2 stopping in Puerta Blanca leave you a few minutes walking from the venue from the city centre.

Is there parking available at the venue?

Parking near the venue can be challenging as free spaces are often occupied. However, there is additional parking available along the Paseo Marítimo area, just a short walk away. Consider arriving early to secure a spot.

What accessibility options are available at the venue?

Both venues guarantees that its spaces and the development of the activity are accessible to all people with the adoption of the following measures: adapted signage, reserved spaces in halls, and 100% accessible toilets.

Will there be a cloakroom at the venue?

Yes, you will find a cloakroom at the conference venue where you can leave your luggage and coat while attending the sessions.

What are the timings for J On The Beach?

J On The Beach will take part from Wednesday, May 14th to Friday, May 16th, 2025.

Event Schedule

  • Wednesday:
    • Registration from 08:00
    • First workshops starting from 09:00
    • Different workshops from 09:00 to 18:00
    • Lunch break throughout the day (not included in the tickets)
    • Lightning Talk Challenge open to everybody from 19:00
  • Thursday:
    • Registration from 08:00
    • Conference sessions run 09:00 to 18:00
    • Lunch and coffee breaks throughout the day
    • Thursday evening hosts the Tech Quiz and Karaoke Contest at Vive La Vida Karaoke – an evening social event at karaoke where we can come together in an informal setting
  • Friday:
    • Conference sessions from 09:00 until circa 16:00
    • Lunch and coffee breaks throughout the day
    • Closing Keynote at 15:00
    • Conference closes at 15:30

What type of Presentations are there?

  • Keynotes – There are usually 45-50 minute keynote sessions
  • Conference talks They last between 10 and 40 minutes.

Do I need to bring a laptop?

You won't need your laptop during the conferences, but it can be a requirement to participate in some workshops. During the conference you can make use of our cloakroom to leave your backpack and laptop there.

All about Workshops

All workshops take place on the 14th of May at la Termica. There are 2 workshop categories: Crema & Canela.

Only Early Bokeron ticket holders can access Canela Workshops for free by using the discount code sent together with the ticket order confirmation. Standard Tuna and Last Callamar will receive a 50% and 30% discount code with their tickets. Even if you are a general ticket holder, registration is not automatic: you will have to register to the workshop of your choice; we recommend you to book your seat as soon as possible since capacity is limited for each workshop. If you have purchased a ticket and cannot find the code please contact us and we will provide it. Check out the following video tutorial to discover how to register on our webpage. For those who are not conference ticket holders, admission will have an specific fee.

Crema workshops are paid workshops both for ticket holders as well as for the general public. You can check the fee for each workshop in the Workshop page.

How big are the halls?

The conferences will take place in three rooms. The main hall has a capacity for 900 people, whereas the two secondary halls have a capacity for 400 and 300 people respectively.

Are there limited seating sessions that I need to sign up for?

No previous registration is needed for general talks; registration is only mandatory for workshops. However, if you plan to attend a conference in one of the two secondary halls, we recommend being proactive and coming early to find a free seat.

Is there a Call For Papers?

Yes, there is a call for papers available until the 20st of January 2025. If you want to be notified for future calls register on our Call for Papers App.

What social events & network opportunities does JOTB offer?

JOTB offers a variety of non-conference activities to help you connect with other attendees. Check out the webpage where we are publishing all social activities.

What is the dress code for the conference?

JOTB doesn't have a formal dress code, though shirts and shoes or sandals are required at all times.

Food & Beverage

Do you cater to special dietary requirements?

Yes. We cater to many special dietary requirements including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free. If you have any dietary requirements outside of the ones mentioned or any questions, you can contact JOTB at info@jonthebeach.com . for any questions and issues related to the payment.

Which meals are included in the general tickets (early bokeron, standard tuna and last callamar)?

JOTB will provide non-stop coffee and lunch only the 15th and 16th of May.

Health & Safety

Do I need to be fully COVID vaccinated to attend the conference?

No, we won't ask you to be fully COVID vaccinated to attend the conferences as there are no mask or vaccination mandates in Spain, but we encourage the attendees to be cautious and responsible for their health and that of others.

Will I need to wear a face mask at the conference?

No, it's not mandatory to wear a face mask at the conference or during the event but you can freely wear it.

Is there a Code Of Conduct for the event?

We follow the Berlin Code of Conduct.

What should I do if I see or experience any inappropriate behavior?

If you see, experience, or hear about any behavior of concern, we encourage you to report it to any member of the JOTB organization or send an email to info@jonthebeach.com.

At The Conference

How do I ask speakers questions?

We will use Vevox to manage questions right after each talk. All badges will have the link and QR code to access our Vevox where you can write your questions that our presenters will formulate at the end of each talk.

How can I learn more about the sponsors at J On The Beach?

You can visit the website of JOTB to find information about every sponsor. Once in the venue, you can access our Sponsor Area, talk to them and learn about their products/services & job opportunities.

How should I prepare before the event?

For a better JOTB experience, we recommend you join our Discord server. We also recommend you to read the presentation abstracts and schedule so you can build your own agenda before you arrive.

We encourage you to keep an eye out for emails from the JOTB team, Ticket Tailor, and our Newsletter so you won't miss any updates.

Will the sessions be recorded and when will they be available?

All talks will be recorded and published on our Youtube channel a few weeks after the event.
